Birthday Pasta Meal


We are celebrating at home the birthday of my brother and i choose to cooked this hearty pasta meal, "spaghetti meatballs in creamy cheese & tomato sauce". I just love to prepare this menu with choosen ingredients of quality spaghetti, creamy cheese, meatballs, button mushrooms, onions, garlic, ground pepper,thyme and tomato sauce.They say that cooking spaghetti during birthdays makes life longer and so it just excites me to cook this food for my brother's special day. And besides pasta is everybodys' favorite at home. Today is a celebration of another year of life, a joyful occassion to prepare sumptuous food.

Crispy Liempo


My relatives spent their weekend at home and we had a great time together. During their stay i cooked this "crispy liempo". Pork belly part cut into bite sizes and marinated in soy sauce, ground black pepper and salt. Deep fried until golden brown and arranged in a serving platter. This is is best served with garlic 'n vinegar dip sauce. So crunchy-licious...Everybody just enjoyed this meal.

Cooking while on Vacation

I spent the weekend with my close relatives and it was a great time to be with them. I had a chance to cook some of their favorite menus like caldereta, sisig,tinolang manok and bijon guisado. Everybody feasted with these savory meals and enjoyed every bite of it. Spending time with them even for just a while was one of best moments because in my own little way i was able to made them happy by serving them their special favors of food.

Artful Organizing of Kitchen

It is always good to keep our kitchen organized by arranging the things in a very simplified and systematic way. The area should be well ventilated and conducive to cooking. Place the stove in a safe place free from any materials that is fire hazard.Keep the refrigerator a distance away from the stove as it is suceptible to harm or injury.Safety first as the saying goes. Arranged the utensils according to kind and use. Separate breakables from plastics.

Put an anti-slip mat in a cabinet where you can arrange or store the plates, bowls, glasses,casserole, pans and other utensils. This can safely help your utensils in place. Spices and condiments should be in an easy access area and stored on room temperature. You can arrange them in such a way that it can be readily available.
Organizing the kitchen can relieve you from the mess and gives you calm thoughts and sights by putting things in its proper places.

It's Adobo time



This is my choice of dish to cook for today, the popular "adobo" (chicken and pork stew).Cut the chicken and pork into serving-size pieces and place in a casserole. Add the ingredients---vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaf, ground pepper and salt together with water and bring to boil. Adjust seasonings according to taste. For this kind of menu, it is best to cook in slow heat and simmer for 40 minutes until the stock reduced to a thick flowing consistency. To personalized this adobo, i added lemongrass for its good health benefits aside from its flavorful scent. Serve immediately with freshly cooked rice. Yummy! :)

What's up for lunch?


Milkfish with Vegetables in Ginger and Lemongrass Broth-- prepare the fish and cut into 4-6 slices. Pour purified water or rice wash into a casserole and bring to boil. Add fish, onions,lemongrass and ginger. Boil for 3 minutes and add vegetables. Adjust seasonings and transfer to soup bowl. Serve hot.

Corned Beef in Potatoes---pan fry the sliced potatoes until golden brown,set aside. Sautee onion and garlic, add corned beef and fried potatoes. Simmer for a few minutes until the oil comes out and the texture of the beef is not watery. Transfer to a bowl and serve.
