Chopsuey Evening

Pork & Shrimp Chopsuey

  • 500 grams pork, (lean part) sliced
  • 400 grams shrimps
  • 2 pcs medium carrots sliced
  • 1 pc sayote sliced diagonally
  • 200 grams mushrooms,cleaned and sliced
  • medium cabbage, sliced
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsps. cornstarch dissolved in hot water
  • salt and pepper
  • sibuyas dahon (leeks)
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. cooking oil


In a large wok or pan, heat the cooking oil. Saute onions and garlic. Add pork and shrimps. Stir until slightly brown. Put water and boil for 10 mins. Add cornstarch, the vegetables (carrots & sayote) and mushrooms. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Put salt , pepper and soy sauce. Add cabbage and stir for a minute. Do not overcook it. Garnish with leeks. Serve hot.
