Oil-Free Weekend

I arrived home yesterday late in the afternoon but still early to prepare for the dinner. I preferred cooking the meals without using oil this time and so the following menus best suited my cooking agenda for the day:

Ensaladang Talong (Eggplant Salad)
Broiled medium-to-large sizes of eggplants. Peel off the skin and scrape the mushy part using a spoon. Chopped some gingers, onions and tomatoes. Adjust the salt and mix all together.

Radish Salad
I like radish, an edible root vegetable prepared as raw food like this salad. Simply peel off the skin and sliced thinly. Put a little salt, chopped onions and leeks. Mix well. I enjoyed eating its crisp, fresh and watery taste.

Grilled Boneless Bangus (Milkfish)
Marinated boneless bangus in salt, pepper and soy sauce. Put some onions,garlic,ginger and lemon grass leaves inside the belly part before wrapping in foil ready for grilling. Approximate grilling time was about 30 minutes depending on the size of the fish. Serve hot with soy sauce and chili vinegar as dipping.

The prepared foods were best enjoyed at the table with this steamy-hot rice...
