Birthday food treat

My brother just celebrated his birthday yesterday. I was busy and had no time to cook at home so I just bought these yummy take out from a specialty restaurant.

We enjoyed eating at home these delicious food treats for Dicks' birthday. A thanksgiving for another blessed year of his life.

Stir Fry Sunday


I was able to spent time on the kitchen this weekend. I cooked this stir fried beef with vegetables. Lean, cut stripped beef sauteed in onions and garlic. Vegetables added were carrots, sayote, and cabbage. I also put some mushrooms to add more flavor. Seasoned with salt & pepper. Add a little soy sauce to taste. Adjust the taste according to preference. Do not over cook the vegetables to retain crispness then serve hot. Yummy meal together with rice for Sunday lunch at home.

Mango Fruit Shake

A refreshing tropical fruit shake that quenched me in a  warm Sunday afternoon at home. Scoop out the flesh of yellow ripe mangoes  ( about 2 pieces) then put  in a blender together with crushed ice. Process until smooth. Add milk  and blend until  thoroughly mixed and serve. A healthy drink to enjoy this summer season.  Have a sip of this yummy yellow shake.

Pomelo Fruit

It is already summer time. Hot sunny weather is experienced now and part of my cravings this season is Pomelo fruit. It is a citrus fruit that is native here in the Philippines in a year round season and always available for sale in fruit markets.
One afternoon I peeled this  Pomelo fruit.
It has  thick layers so I have to peeled it up to the fleshy part.
A sweet pink flesh in thick pudgy rind. Fresh and healthy fruit this summer season.

Parmesan Cheese

I always use this Parmesan Cheese in my pasta dishes (spaghetti, fetuccine, penne etc.)The distinctively salty, slightly granular cheese has many uses in Italian cuisine such as a topping for pastas and pizzas, and as a crucial ingredient in some sauces. Since this is not a common kitchen ingredient here, it is quite pricey when purchased in selected grocery outlets. This kind of cheese just perfectly blend or compliment in my menus and dishes.
