Mellow yellow Monday: Pizza

Yummy double sized Philly Cheese Steak Overload pizza  that I ordered for take out one evening after work. The flavor is one of the extreme cheese pizzas topped with half pound of roast beef and pepperoni. So creamy in every bite and the loads of toppings are very satisfying. Sharing you a slice for a happy yellow Monday .

Weekend at home

Staying at home even just for one day during weekend was very precious to me. I  was busy in the kitchen  from marketing, food preparation cooking and many more. Going to the wet market early morning was fun and I bought lots of fresh fish and vegetables. I prepared lunch earlier so that I could still have time for my personal necessities in the afternoon. My cooking menus were all fish and vegetables for a healthier weekend.

I went home early last night and cooked this yummy and tempting crabs in cola and oyster sauce. Pre -boiled crabs then set aside. In a large pan, sauté onions, garlic and ginger. Put the crabs simmer for a few seconds then add the cola. Let it boil and add oyster sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens then garnished with leeks.  Served hot with rice. Its quite messy when eating crabs but I never mind. The delicious taste just compensate it all. Happy food tripping to everybody!

Crispy Liempo and Cucumber

It is always fun to adventure on cooking. Since  I had meatless diet for the past 2 weeks  I decided to bought some special cuts of liempo (pork belly part).I marinated the pork in soy sauce, salt, pepper, onions, garlic and seasonings overnight. This is for the meat to thoroughly absorbed all the marinating ingredients. Deep fry the pork in very hot oil until crisp golden brown. Arranged in a serving dish with cucumber slices. One yummy menu  for lunch or dinner at home.

Fresh Squid

One of the seafood that I love to cook is squid. I bought these special white kind in the wet market last weekend. There are many squid varieties that are sold in the market but I personally choose this kind because of its  good taste and  quality. . Many recipes can be made on squid like grilled, deep fried (calamares), adobo, stir fry with vegetables, squid pasta etc. Just be sure that it is cleaned well by removing all the internals prior to cooking.

Life Insurance

Everybody wants to be secured nowadays and I am one of those who give priority on having a life insurance. Nothing is certain in this world and it is always good to be practical by insuring yourself. It is one beneficial act not just for the security of yourself but to your family as well. When I got  my life insurance, I was very skeptical at first because I had no idea on what was it all about. When it was fully explained and presented to me I realized its great benefits. There were many quotes where I was able to choose according to my needs and lifestyle. I only selected the one that fits to my personal standards. I also had to consider my capacity to pay for the premiums. Now I never regret that I got an insurance because I am sure of my future and I can be at peace of myself. It would be two more years to go and I am looking forward for the great rewards of the insurance that I got for myself.

Pako Salad

This one healthy dish that I prepared from Pako (an edible fern). The soft stalks and leaves were selected and cut then washed thoroughly  in clean water. In a pot boil about 2 cups of water, then blanched the cleaned pako for just 30 seconds to be crispy and still green in color. Drain and set aside. In a separate plate, combined onion rings, chopped tomatoes, ginger slices, vinegar and salt. Add the pako and mix together the ingredients. A good side dish for lunch or dinner.I liked it!
