Curly Chews


I've been busy this week with so many personal and family matters. One of my favorite habit while taking some breaks was nibbling with cheesy , crunchy cheese curls. I was not eating much of it though but in somehow it helped down my stress and tensions. The puffed corned snacks coated with  cheese or cheese flavored powders. Every bite was very tasty that I can't stopped myself from picking from the bag until all consumed. I was just having some cravings for this week and it was a nice little indulgence that I can give to myself once in a while.

Chicken Day

I was not able to joined Food Trip Friday for the past weeks because I was so busy. During my hectic days I was able to cooked this Chicken Aloha at home. Dressed chicken (native kind) was marinated in salt, pepper and seasonings overnight. Then fried turning each sides until golden brown. Set aside. In a large pot, put pineorange juice, pineapple chunks, salt, pepper, onions,lemon grass and the whole chicken. Boil in a slow fire until tender. Place in a serving dish and garnished with pineapple slices and celery. My favorite part here are the chicken legs and everybody at home enjoyed eating this meal. Indeed, a great chicken day.

Bulalo weekend

After the busy days of the week, it pays to indulged in a hearty meal like this bulalo (beef bone marrow soup).A special cut of beef bone marrow is boiled until very tender. Add onions, ginger, salt and pepper. Put saba kind of banana and gabi then boiled in 15-20 minutes. Lastly add sliced cabbage and stir in to combine all the ingredients. Serve hot with leek garnishing.Very tasty meal to prepare either lunch of dinner.

Mix Fruit Salad

Tropicals fruits are always abundant in the fruit stands in the market and they are often present in table for serving. Last Sunday I tried mixing some fruits for a salad-- banana, avocado and papaya. They were peeled and sliced into cubes. Combined all together in a serving bowl then added with some sugar and evaporated milk. Blend well together with the fruits. Chill in the refrigerator and hour before serving. Healthy and delicious dessert to have after  lunch or dinner.

Off for a while

I was off for a while  and had to give break from making posts in here. I had a very exhausting days because my brother got sick of dengue fever. His case needed special monitoring and extra care. Good thing because he recovered faster last weekend. Now I can have time to update again my posts here.
