Fruit Cocktail Salad

I had all my time one Saturday at home and I prepared this fruit cocktail salad. A pack of cream, can of fruit cocktail and can of condensed milk were present in my pantry so I thought these would make a perfect desert. Combining all the ingredients then chilling it in the refrigerator were all that I did. Sweet and creamy dessert as daily servings either for lunch or dinner.

Beefy Friday

One of the requested menu that I cooked was Beef Caldereta as everybody's favorite at home. I often cook stew foods  but  for this one I tried to be adventurous on the flavor. It has richer sauce with added dried tarragon leaves to enhanced the flavor.  The caldereta taste is still perfect with the  distinct aroma of the herb. Don't forget the partner of this menu-- rice:) Happy FTF and a great weekend to all!

Pancit weekend

Noodles was the star of my table days ago because my days were quite hectic due to work and other personal responsibilities. I bought this take out of Pancit Palabok  in a specialty restaurant. Pancit palabok and pancit luglug are essentially the same dish, the difference being primarily in the noodles used in the recipe. Luglug uses a thicker noodle than the traditional bihon of a pancit palabok. Both pancit dishes use a round rice noodle (often specifically labeled for pancit luglug or palabok) smothered with a thick, golden shrimp sauce or other flavored sauce, and topped with:Shrimp, (the size and shell-on or shell-off depending on preference) crushed or ground pork rind, hard-boiled egg (sliced into disks or quartered lengthwise or chopped) tinapa (smoked fish) flakes and freshly minced green onion. Delicious enough that I already forgot to take dinner because I felt bloated after the eating.

Java PDFs

I just made an appointment with my friend last week and I had a long conversation with her regarding my restaurant business. The business is about to be a year older in the next few months and now I am still on the process of updating it especially on the computer/internet side. I consulted her about Java PDF, a software that would eventually help me in making a good system as far as the general operations of the restaurant are concerned. I had a hard and difficult times when I started this food and restaurant business and part of its operations is careful planning on the things that would benefit the business. I am thankful that she patiently discussed and listened to me about so many matters. I hope I can build and start the data the soonest possible time. I can even share this to my friends local and abroad because it could help improve business strategies and performances.

Fiesta on weekend

My cousin invited me on their fiesta. It was an annual celebration of their place and all the locals usually prepared food and invited some guests to joined the thanksgiving. I had my sister with and we enjoyed the company together with my cousins, nephews, nieces and relatives. Delicious foods were served before us like suckling roasted pig, grilled fish, macaroni salad, chicken broth, stir fried shrimps desserts and many more. We went home late at night already and my cousin was so generous enough to sent us some bring home foods.

Photo Books

My newly opened restaurant is doing very good so far and I am happy that all things are doing well in spite of those events that are beyond my control that sometimes can affect the business in some ways. Anyway, I already  stabilized almost all of the business aspects. The food servings are great. I still would like to explore for more interesting food trips not just here in the locals but also in the international settings. I am planning to make some photo books about my food trips and have it binded  in one. It will serve as part of the menu book that would make part of my advertising and marketing styles. I contacted Jessops about this plan because I believe in the quality of their services. I had been their client a year ago and I immediately saw the good offers that they have given to my business.

Food Trip for 2011

Its nice to be back again on food trip Friday after the rush and busy  life during the past holiday season. I made this  chicken macaroni salad last weekend. Quality  macaroni pasta mixed with mayonnaise, fruit cocktail, condensed milk, raisins, threaded chicken meat and pineapple crushed. I made it creamy and cheesy to make it  specially perfect for 2011. This serving only stayed for one (1) day in the refrigerator because it was everybody's favorite :) A "yummylicious" new year to all!

New Year Siomai

I had been planning to cook siomai on the new year and at last it was realized. A very tedious work that I did because it took hours of patience especially on the wrapping and steaming. My efforts did very well because these tiny dumplings were so delicious. The center sauce is a special spicy dipping that I bought in a specialty restaurant of dumplings. Here is the recipe.
Chicken Siomai 

Ingredients:

1/2 kilo ground chicken
carrots, shredded
shrimps, peeled
white onions, chopped
celery, chopped
salt & pepper
olive oil
egg
flour
siomai wrappers

Procedure:
Heat olive oil in a pan. Saute onions until light brown then add the ground chicken, salt and pepper, carrots mix well then set aside. In a mixing bowl, put egg, flour celery and the ground chicken. Mix thoroughly until well blended. Get a siomai wrapper and put teaspoonful of the chicken  mixture then top with shrimps. You can wrap it into triangles, squares or pouch like depending on your choice of wrapping. Be sure that it is sealed by using water in the ends . Continue  until the mixture is consumed. Arranged all the siomai in a steamer and have it steamed for 20 minutes. Serve hot together with a spicy sauce, calamansi and soy sauce.
