Dark Chocolate Wafer Cookies

I love chocolate wafers and this pack just tempted me one day while having some groceries in the mall. We enjoyed every bite size of creamy chocolatey taste of wafers. The sweetness is mild as compared to other kinds of wafers. Good partner for coffee or tea at anytime of the day. Can also be great for snacks as well. I like to try some flavors for this kind of wafer when I have time to visit the mall again.

Orange Marmalade

I immediately bought this jar of orange marmalade the other day when I went to the grocery store. I used to think about buying one because I have a recipe pending to try until I can complete all the needed ingredients. Marmalade is a fruit preserve made from the juice and peel of fruits boiled with sugar and water. The peel has a distinctive bitter taste which is imparts to the marmalade. I am already excited to cook my recipe and hopefully be realize any time these days.

Comfort Soup for Rainy day

Rainy days are here again! There was a heavy downpour when I went home early last night so  I decided to cook this comfort food - Sotanghon Soup (vermicelli noodles/mung bean) for dinner. Thinly sliced chicken (breast part) and  peeled shrimps were sauteed with garlic and onions then simmered for few minutes. Vegetables that I added were carrot sticks,shredded cabbage, sliced mushrooms and finely chopped leeks. Lastly add the noodles simmered and mixed all together until done. Placed in a soup dish and served while hot. A yummy  comfort soup that really helped relieved my stress of the rainy day. Hope to see a sunny weekend again. Happy Food Tripping everyone!

Garlic bunch

This is one of my favorite spice or seasonings on my cooking. I was lucky to bought a bunch in a newly opened grocery shop. This is the native kind of garlic. Garlic is widely used around the world for its pungent flavor as a seasoning or condiment.The garlic plant's bulb is the most commonly used part of the plant. With the exception of the single clove types, garlic bulbs are normally divided into numerous fleshy sections called cloves. Garlic cloves are used for consumption (raw or cooked) or for medicinal purposes. They have a characteristic pungent, spicy flavor that mellows and sweetens considerably with cooking. I used one bulb yesterday when I cooked some seafood vegetables for lunch. Great tasting with this kind of garlic.

Grilled Serving

I was craving for some grilled food last Sunday and it was a timing because when I went to the wet market place, I bought a fresh Kitang fish  that would be great for dinner. The fish was thoroughly cleaned then marinated in lemon juice, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Put some lemon grass and onions inside the hallow part where the intestines were removed. Wrapped with aluminum foil then grilled over hot flaming charcoal for 20 minutes turning every side for even cooking. Serve hot. This is very simple yet  finger licking good meal.

My Dessert for FTF

June month is here again. Time just flies fast and we are now on the sixth month of the year. I would like to serve a dessert as my first entry this month -- Creamy Mango Float. Graham crackers are used as based then layered with heavy sweetened cream, sliced ripe mangoes and ending with cream mixture on top sprinkled with some crushed graham. This chilled serving tastes creamy sweet and tempting in every slice. Hope our lives in the coming days ahead be  sweet too just like this fruit dessert.
